The two elderly MCMAHON women who were buried with George B. HOGAN lived at 2763 Webster Ave. I can't say exactly who they were because their records conflict in so many ways. The 1900 census lists them as sisters, and their death certificates both list their father's surname as HOGAN, though they differ on forename and father's place of birth.

My best theory: one or both were sisters of Patrick HOGAN. Anne was most probably. Both were widowed from MCMAHONs, (whether these MCMAHON men were related to each other I don't know). Anne and John R. McMAHON lived at 979 3d av (59th st) when he died in 1892.
Catherine was widowed first by James SCOTT and from Andrew R. McMAHON some time before 1885. Neither husband was buried with her. After Andrew's death, Catherine lived at 237 W 40th (1885) and then 503 W 23rd (1890)

Some time between 1892 and 1898, the widows found a place together in the Bronx, and moved there, John SCOTT in tow. On the map, I've marked the location of a couple of McMAHON families also in the area, but I haven't linked them.

The 1898 directory listing was in Catharine's name and she was head of household in the 1900 census.
Catherine MCMAHON, head, b. Nov 1828 age 72
Anna MCMAHON, sister Nov 1838 age 62 [probably older]
John SCOTT, son, Aug 1870 35 [sic] [he was probably closer to 45]

Anne took out a listing in the 1901-2 directory, indicating perhaps that Catherine was indisposed for a period prior to her 1903 death from cerebral apoplexy and paralysis.
After his mother's death, I assume John continued to live at 2763 Webster with his Aunt Anne. She had a listing in 1905. But both were living downtown at 143 W 16th st for the 1910 census.

Anne died in 1912, after which John disappeared from the records. A 1913 listing at 490 Columbus might be his, but as far as I know John never had a listing of his own.
It was in 1916 that he had the bodies of this mother, aunt, and uncles exhumed and moved to a new plot at Calvary, and in January of 1920 he joined them. It was only his death documents that indicated that his residence had been on Morningside Drive.
