West Side, 16th Street area
George B. HOGAN's listing at 132 W. 15th is covered on Map 1.
Of the SCOTT locations on this map, only 143 W. 16th is confirmed.
It was here that John SCOTT lived with his aunt, Ann HOGAN MCMAHON in 1910 and 1913
(probably earlier).
[There was also a "dead ringer" SCOTT family at 243 W. 16th, and
possibly at other locations on the map. I've almost ruled them out.]
The other landmarks in this area are Arnold Constable, of which John SCOTT was a long time employee.
We have no positive indication of his early residences
but his place of work suggests he had ties in this neighborhood.
That tie could have been Francis J. HOGAN, his executor and [presumed] cousin,
who went to high school at St. Francis Xavier.
Based on FJH's reported birth year (1878), this would have been during the early 1890s.
Following Xavier,
Francis J. went to Fordham, and it's not hard to imagine he lived with
the McMAHON aunts on Webster Ave.
