                        Grattan or possibly Robinson).

Death* aft __ 1852 Ire or USA (Caffrey oral tradition had Edward migrating, but they may have confused
him with Matthew (as his name was misremembered) No evidence exists of the parents'
                        whereabouts after Matthew Fagan's birth).

___________________________________________________________________________________
Spouse* Mary (CAFFREY) FAGAN
Name-Var: Mary CAFFREY (Mary CAFFREY named as groom's mother in Laurence Fagan's marriage
certif. This was the only instance we have found of "Mary" being used by her
children, though it was used on her own children's bap certificates
Mary was also the name of Edward Jr's first known daughter)
Name-Var: Anna/Ann (Anna/Ann seems to be a legit variant, per usages:
Caffrey family remembrance and Matthew Fagan dc.
Ann/Anna was also the name of Matthew's first daughter)
Name-Var:               CAFFERY (Caffery spelling in Fagan note. Matthew dc;
spelling not consistent with contemporary CAFFREY family usage but
                        was a local variant per Griffith's (1850s).
Baptisms (1816-1840) used CAFREY (John C., Rose, Laurence F.) CAFRY
(James C., John, Eugene, both Edward Fagans)
Num Child* Family lore says 5 boys (4 of whom immigrated) and 3 girls. Name count
based on oral tradition + surviving bap certs gives 9. Eugene (bap) and Owen (lore) are
                        same person.
Note the 24-year childbearing span (Rose at age 23--Matthew at age 47),
which casts suspicion on Matthew's oft stated year of birth.
Note also, leap between last certified birth (1840) and Matthew, with 2 or
3 potential children to fit within that gap.
Birth* 1805-1806 Barconey, Ballyjamesduff, Castlerahan, Cavan, Ire (per JC: recorded as 15-yrs
in 1821 census; place was probably Barconey Grattan/Knocknawellan, but not
                        substantiated).

                        Bridget 9, John 5, James 2).
Death* aft_ __ 1852 Ire or USA (Caffrey oral tradition had Edward migrating, but they may
misremembered. No solid evidence exists of the parents' whereabouts after
